Sexual Health
In some relationships you might want to have sex.
The law says you can consent to have sex from age 16. To consent means to fully agree to. You don't have to have sex, even if you are old enough.
Having sex is a big decision; especially if it is your first time.
You should never feel under pressure to have sex. It is okay to say no.
If you have sex, make sure it is safe sex. This will protect you against:
- an unplanned pregnancy
- catching a serious disease that could make you very sick
- getting an infection.
