Leaving home
Nearly everyone leaves home or care – sooner or later.
You might want to:
- live on your own
- live with other people
- stay with parents or carers
- live in sheltered accommodation - this means there will be someone close by if you need help
- live in a hospital to get special medical care.
You'll need to think about:
- how you want to live
- where you want to live
- what support you'll need
- how much it'll cost
These will be able to help you:
- Social worker
- Local authority housing department
- Connexions personal adviser
- Independent disability support groups
