Money for working
People earn money by working.
People use their money to:
- buy the things they need
- buy the things that want
- save for the future.
It is important to spend the money you have carefully. If you spend more than you have, you will get into debt.
Almost everyone who works must get at least a minimum level of pay. This is called the national minimum wage.
Almost everyone who earns must pay tax and national insurance. This is usually taken from your wages.
Your pay slip will show you how much you have earned. And how much tax and national insurance you have paid. It is useful to keep your pay slips.
